Wild Expeditions Africa
Wild Expeditions Africa is a pioneering collective of safari camps and expeditions operating in remote parts of Africa since the late 1990s.
Our small, intimate camps (usually 6-8 rooms) are located in some of our favourite wilderness areas in Africa: the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, the Masoala Peninsula in Madagascar and the lower Omo Valley in Ethiopia. These locations give us privileged and exclusive access to some of the most exciting and unique ecosystems, species and human cultures on the continent and we intend through our operations there to enhance the conservation of these areas.
For example, at Karangoma in Botswana we work at integrating a rural Bukakhwe community into the ecotourism revenue stream and reducing human-wildlife conflict; at Masoala Forest Lodge in Madagascar we similarly work with the local Betsimisaraka community in leasing the last vestiges of coastal rainforest to prevent deforestation; at Lale’s Camp in Ethiopia we are more focused on celebrating the traditional cultures of the Kara and other tribes that cling to their centuries’ old existence.
